Year 3 2025 - 2026

Hello and welcome to the Year 3 page!

Here you will find lots of useful information and updates about our amazing class. In Year 3, we always follow our school's Golden Rules to keep Middleforth a happy place. Our Golden Rules are:

In Year 3, our team is Mrs Gordon (class teacher) and Mrs Laithwaite (teaching assistant). We are also super lucky to have Mr Noblet teaching on a Thursday. 

Homework

Each week the children will choose a homework task from the grid glued in their homework books. Homework will be related to the learning we are doing each half term. It will be sent out on a Friday and should be returned the following Thursday.  

Reading

We ask that children read daily; 5/10 minutes of reading makes a huge difference. Children are able to swap their book any day of the week but we do ask that they read it twice as re-reading books is beneficial to develop fluency and comprehension.

PE

Please ensure your child has the correct PE uniform. Details can be found in the school’s uniform policy on our website. Our PE days are currently Tuesday and Thursday.

OPAL 

At Middleforth, all children have access to OPAL during break and lunch time. There are a range of activities to choose from including den building, playing with tyres, using the small world area etc. Please can you ensure your child has some waterproofs and wellies in school and that they are labelled. We will also need these for forest school activities as we can never guarantee a dry day and we love to be outdoors!
